Today I went to town to look for a new cologne and I learned something important.
Ok, many colognes don't work on my skin. Even Aventus lasted only an hour, mildly, leaving a hardly detectable trace.
So I always had to stick to a couple that did work.
Today I mentioned that to someone at the store and she said that that's caused by dry skin. I have very dry skin. I get lotion for it on doctor's prescription.
They told me that the molecules can attach well to dry skin, causing my problem.
This morning, before I knew this, I sprayed a whole sample bottle of Original Vetiver on my left arm. Same thing. It faded. About an hour ago I applied some lotion on a spot on my right arm an sprayed on one spray of my second sample of OV and it smelled so fresh right away. And strong. And it's still very noticeable.
So wherever I spray the cover scent, I will need to apply lotion first. My guess is that the colognes that do work for me will work even better.
Second part of this is, perhaps the same is true for the mone spray. Maybe that doesn't attach to dry skin well also. I don't know, but I'm not going to take any chances.
So here's what I'm going to do from tomorrow on:
1. Apply lotion on the application points. Let it sink in for 15 minutes. Check to see if the skin feel normal and not dry.
2. Apply mones.
3. Apply cover scent.
My guess is that at least the cover scent will work much better. I had already doubts about it. I always smelled the mones through it pretty strongly.
And perhaps, if this applies to the mone product itself as well, maybe that will work better and/or longer as well. And perhaps I need to use less.
All you need is a lotion from the drug store. Unless you have very dry skin like me. Then those won't help and you need to see your doctor about it.
So maybe for some of you this will help the performance of the colognes and mone products.
