I just had my first skydive and it was pretty awesome.
It was a tandem jump which means I was hooked to the instructor and he wore the chute.
We jumped from just over 10000 ft. The free fall was a little terrifying at first, especially with the acceleration. The noise was so loud that it hurt my ears. Keeping in form was a little hard for me, but I think I got that part down pretty good. It felt like the wind sucked all the water out of my mouth and lungs, so I was dehydrated by the free fall.
The parachute opened at 4000 ft and most of the ride down was smooth. It's a little like watching a movie until you get close enough to the ground to make out people and other objects. So the scariest parts are the beginning and the ending. The middle part is easy.
It was windy that day so we hit the ground a little hard. I ended up skidding on my knees for a few feet. No blood, but I'm a little sore.
